TechSmith Launches Camtasia 2023 with Enhanced Visual Effects

TechSmith, a software company based in Michigan, has recently launched Camtasia 2023, the latest major release of its screen recording and video editing tool for Mac and Windows. The new version offers enhanced visual effects and implements several user-requested features, making video editing easier and faster for professionals and beginners alike.

One of the major highlights of Camtasia 2023 is the dynamic background feature, allowing users to add visual effects to their screencasts. Users can set the size, speed, and coloration of the effects, making the videos more dynamic and visually appealing. Camtasia 2023 also includes new cursor features, such as the Cursor Color effect and the Shadow Effect, making the cursor more visible and highlighting it better.

The software includes several new visual effects, including Motion Path, Vignette, and a beta version of a background removal tool that uses AI. Users can also apply Camtasia Filters to their videos, with over 30 Color LUTs available via the new Filters tab in the Visual Effects tool bin.

Camtasia 2023 is available as a free trial download for PCs running Windows 10 (1909) or later, and Macs running macOS 10.15 or later. The full version can be purchased for $299 new (perpetual license) or $161.99 as an upgrade, with a guaranteed free upgrade to the 2024 version when it’s released next year. Existing Camtasia Maintenance contract subscribers will receive the update for free.
