DroidKit: The Android Toolkit for Fixing, Recovery, and Beyond

Android offers numerous customization options compared to iOS. It does not still mean complete freedom, though. Sometimes, features meant to protect your device can prevent you from actually accessing it. You might forget the screen passcode or accidentally delete something from the gallery.
As it happens, Android itself does not provide any tools to address this need. Most smartphone vendors tend to keep things closed as well. There are times when you need a comprehensive toolkit to manage various aspects of an Android device, including data recovery and device unlocking.
Fortunately, a tool like DroidKit from iMobie comes into play in this situation.
What Is DroidKit?
DroidKit is an all-in-one toolkit for Android devices that can be used on both Mac and Windows PCs. It is designed to offer a set of tools that allow you to access various aspects of your device, including data recovery, password unlocking, screen unlocking, and OS management, among other options.
It also includes a few utilities that will come in handy when you want to get the most out of your Android smartphone or tablet. One aspect that makes DroidKit appealing is the security and safety it provides, along with its wider compatibility with manufacturers worldwide.
In other words, DroidKit claims to help you in situations where native Android features cannot really be of any help.
Core DroidKit Features
Here’s a quick overview of the core feature set of iMobie DroidKit.
- Remove screen locks of any kind (PIN, password, pattern, fingerprint, or Face ID) in minutes, without needing the password or root access.
- Bypass Google FRP (Factory Reset Protection) on Android devices (Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, etc.).
- Resolve Android system issues, such as black screens, frozen screens, touch issues, and app crashes, without requiring root access.
- Recover lost data (photos, messages, attachments, WhatsApp data) via “Quick Recovery” and “Deep Recovery” modes.
- Transfer, back up, and manage Android data (photos, videos, contacts, WhatsApp, etc.).
- Reinstall or upgrade your Android OS using official ROMs safely and without root access.
- Clean system junk to free storage and improve performance.
DroidKit Hands-On Review
While the claims from iMobie are impressive, we decided to test the latest version of DroidKit on an M2 MacBook Air, connecting it to a sample Android device to evaluate its real-world performance and usability. Our focus was on the most critical modules.
Setup & UI
Installing and getting started with iMobie DroidKit takes only a few seconds. You can download the app from its official website and complete the installation quickly. The installer would download the files during the setup process.

The tile-based User Interface design of DroidKit is a good place to start. This design makes things easier when you want to focus on a single feature. As you can see, there are separate tiles for modules such as Screen Unlocker, FRP Bypass, Data Recovery, Data Extractor, Data Manager, System Fix, System Reinstall, and System Cleaner.
DroidKit shows you available options when you hover over a tile. For instance, you can choose between the three options for Data Extractor. Overall, we found the UI easy to navigate. Even if you haven’t used any of these tools before, you will find DroidKit effortless to handle.
Core Features Explored
We will now examine how iMobie DroidKit performs in terms of core features.
# Unlocking Screen Password
The Screen Unlocker module of DroidKit enables you to remove various screen passcodes from Android devices. It doesn’t really matter whether you have used a pattern, PIN, digital numbers, alphanumeric codes, or fingerprints for the protection. The module can remove all these kinds of locks.
As far as compatibility is concerned, you won’t have any trouble using it with devices from manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Sony, and Google, among others. The problem here is that unless you have a Samsung device, you are likely to use all your data.
Still, it is a better approach considering that you would have to go through Android Recovery Mode. But DroidKit can help you manage everything through an assisted process. The process is straightforward and can be completed without specialized expertise.
# FRP Lock Bypassing
The FPR lock bypassing feature is also pretty great. You can use this module to bypass Google FRP locks that appear on Android smartphones from manufacturers such as Samsung, Oppo, Sony, OnePlus, and others.

As long as you are using an Android version between 6 and 15, you can use this feature. It should allow you to use any other Google account once the process is done. The limitation here is that you will lose all your data, regardless of the device you have.
# Data Recovery
The Data Recovery module of DroidKit offers three options for data recovery: Quick, Deep, and WhatsApp.
Quick Recovery is a viable option to easily recover data from your Android smartphone. This recovery option does not require root access, either. It does a great job of recovering all sorts of files, including typical ones like photos and application-specific files. However, it does not use maximum recovery options.

Deep Recovery, on the other hand, does substantially more to recover data. As a result, the app will have to root your Android smartphone to do a deep scan. It is nice that the DroidKit helps you root the phone. It also means the basic recovery option may skip many recoverable files.
The WhatsApp Recovery feature is also great, given that it’s become a hub for communication. You can utilize the dedicated set of features to recover messages, documents, and other items.

# Fixing Android System Issues
You may encounter issues related to the Android system, especially if you modify the device. DroidKit makes it easy to resolve issues such as boot loops, black screens, charging problems, and stuck screens.
The app would select the appropriate methodology based on the issue. You would typically have to take your phone to a technician for these issues. It’s nice to have such an option on DroidKit. Most of these tools will completely erase the data, though.
# Data Extraction from Crashed Device
You can use DroidKit to extract data from a crashed device, Google account backup, or even a SIM card. All these features are great, and the app offers on-time assistance as soon as you connect your phone via USB. On most devices, you will need to enable Recovery Mode, and DroidKit guides you through every step.

# Reinstalling/Upgrading Android
Manufacturers often fail to provide sufficient options for reinstalling or upgrading the Android OS, but DroidKit helps facilitate this process. You can connect your device, launch, and Reinstall the Android module, and it will do the job for you.
# Android Data Management
The Data Manager module of DroidKit offers ample control over what and how you store data on an Android smartphone.

The 1-Click Data Transfer module makes it easy to move data between your PC/Mac and your Android phone. While Android Mover makes it effortless to shift to another device (Android & iOS), WhatsApp Manager can offer never-before-seen control over how you move WhatsApp between two devices.

We find that most companies offer dedicated, paid tools for these purposes. iMobie has incorporated all these great features into a single module.
Performance & Reliability
We tested the performance of iMobie DroidKit during each task, and the results met our expectations. As you can guess, the ultimate performance/speed depends on the device, USB version, etc. In conclusion, DroidKit is comparable to other Android toolkits we have tried.
We also double-checked this by going through various DroidKit reviews on Reddit and other platforms. Although some users had bad experiences, DroidKit appears to perform the job effectively, particularly in screen unlocking and data recovery.
Additional tools included in the package also seem to work well, especially phone management tools.
Availability & Pricing
DroidKit offers both free and premium plans.
The free version is useful for previewing recoverable data, viewing extractable data, downloading necessary firmware packages, and backing up WhatsApp content. However, full access to core functions (unlocking, recovery) requires a purchase.
Pricing is flexible:
- Full Toolkit Subscription: $79.99 per year, usable on up to five devices.
- Individual Modules: iMobie also allows purchasing modules separately (e.g., Screen Unlocker, System Reinstall) at lower, single-use price points.
Given the depth of functionality offered, DroidKit provides reasonable value, especially when compared to the cost of professional repair services.
Pros & Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| All-in-one toolkit (unlock, recovery, repair, transfer) | Some advanced features cause complete data loss |
| Easy, intuitive, tile-based UI with step-by-step guides | Full functionality often limited to specific brands (esp. Samsung) |
| Most features work without root (except Deep Recovery) | Compatibility can be gappy on very old or very new Android OS versions |
| Supports 20,000+ Android models | Firmware downloads can be slow |
| Offers single-module purchase |
Wrapping Up
After some thorough testing, we believe you should consider DroidKit. It packs some super-handy features that are so helpful, you can avoid a visit to a technician. Yet, we believe the developer should make more of its features compatible with a wider range of devices, not just Samsung.
Even if you don’t have a damaged Android device, you will love the data management/extraction features. The free version is a great way to check whether these features can help you!
