Our Experience
We tested EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard on a MacBook Pro with a 500GB SSD that had recently been formatted. The Quick Scan found recently deleted files within minutes, while the Deep Scan took several hours but successfully recovered files that were several months old. The tool allowed us to preview files before recovery, which is a nice feature, and we appreciated the streamlined workflow from scan to restoration.
The RAID recovery feature also worked seamlessly during our test on a Windows 10 system with a RAID 0 configuration, retrieving lost files even after a system failure.
Performance
From our experience with the software, EaseUS Data Recovery certainly lives up to the expectations. Scanning is notably rapid; we were pleasantly surprised when, after mistakenly deleting a batch of files, the software quickly detected them, saving us an immense amount of waiting time.
The results are presented in an organized file tree, making it effortless for users to navigate. Another notable feature was the ability to recover files even while the scan was ongoing, eliminating the need to halt the process midway.
Digging deeper into the software’s offerings, the unlimited data recovery potential is impressive. Whether you’ve lost a single file or an entire drive’s worth of data, EaseUS performed very well in fetching most of it back.
The recovered file quality proves the software’s efficiency, as the recovered files appeared to have never been misplaced. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. We encountered a few hitches during our tests. For one, the software’s time estimations for operations were frequently off the mark.
While this might not seem a major drawback, inaccurate time predictions can frustrate users eagerly waiting to retrieve their data. The preview functionality, though of high quality, posed some limitations.
It struggled with several popular photo formats, a letdown for users hoping to preview before recovery. Additionally, we noticed specific issues when the software handled FAT32 and exFAT scanning.
Effectiveness
We have noticed how well it performs, but is it effective? From our firsthand experience of EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard on Windows, we have felt its effectiveness in every feature, as they are reliable and quick.
When we intentionally deleted various files—from documents to audio files and difficult-to-recover file formats- it restored each one. It didn’t get it right away during the quick scan, but it eventually recovered everything when it went to the advanced scan.
This level of effectiveness might be consistent with some of the prominent data recovery tools, but none were good at recovering freshly deleted files, as EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard did. However, it doesn’t mean that it works well with only recently deleted files, as it recovered some of the old files which were deleted long back.
Additionally, we conducted a series of tests to understand the depth of the tool’s recovery capability. To our surprise, the accuracy of data restoration is above 90%, which has given us a sense of relief, knowing that we still had a shot at retrieving it, even when they were deleted long back.
However, no software is without its flaws. We noted a few areas where EaseUS could improve in terms of effectiveness. Firstly, there is no automatic resumption of scanning if the device has been disconnected, and you have to press the continue button when the device reconnects manually.
Additionally, the preview support and post-processing must be enhanced, as they are underperforming compared to competitors. Even though it has a huge knowledge base, it would be better if each feature came with an info option to understand and use the tools effectively.
Customer Support
Regarding customer support, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard has never compromised, as they offer 24*5 live chat support. During the rest of the days, you can opt for email support, for which you expect a reply in under 24 hours.
If you have purchased the pro version, you’re eligible for one-on-one Remote Assistance Service, where each technician is extremely skillful and can easily solve any concern with data recovery or issues with their software.
We didn’t find any issues with customer support, but we felt the quotation system could be improved to make an appointment for a remote connection quicker.
