TheSweetBits’ Key Takeaways

Calendar apps are dime a dozen these days! Most devices, be it a Mac, Android, or PC, ship with a calendar app as well. However, not many of these calendar apps help you plan your work or life. Sure, most of these apps let you connect multiple calendars and reminders, but that’s about it.
So, when you want to schedule your life across many calendars, productivity platforms, or video apps, only a few options are available. Morgen, a daily planner app that integrates AI features, is one of the alternatives available today, though.
What Is Morgen?
Morgen is essentially a calendar app that focuses on helping you plan your schedule. Although you can use Morgen as an alternative to your default calendar app, you will appreciate it more if your focus is on having a better schedule.
Unlike conventional calendars, Morgen lets you connect not only calendars but also apps like Notion and Todoist. The company also offers a suite of AI-powered scheduling options. The question, then, is how great Morgen is in real life.
David Tedaldi, CEO of Morgen, notes:
“We help people spend time on what matters most to them. We started by helping people bring all the data that makes up their time into one place, meaning consolidating tasks, projects, events, and calendars all in one place.”
Features Overview
- Instantly merge all your schedules into one clean, color-coded, and filterable view.
- Drag-and-drop tasks from integrated apps (like Notion or Todoist) directly onto your calendar.
- Use the AI Planner and “Frames” to suggest optimal time slots for your tasks.
- Generate personalized booking links and integrate directly with Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams.
- Automatically add travel time and buffer periods between meetings.
- Work securely across all major platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux, Web, Mobile).
How It Works?
Getting started with Morgen is an effortless process, designed for quick integration into your workflow.
- Account Creation and Access: After creating an account, you can immediately begin using Morgen through its native desktop application (macOS, Windows, Linux) or the feature-rich web-based interface. Note that certain features, like Morgen Assist, may be exclusive to the web.
- Calendar Integration (The Core): The primary step is integrating your existing schedules. In just a few minutes, you can connect and unify your multiple calendar accounts (Google, Outlook, etc.). Morgen supports quick onboarding for popular services and provides suggestions on which accounts to connect.
- Team & Sharing: Morgen allows for both connecting existing calendars and creating new calendars that can be shared with your team, instantly laying the groundwork for collaboration.
Morgen Hands-on Review
Morgen sounds so nice on paper! It could very well be the best calendar/planner app, according to the pitch. However, we wanted to test how helpful this smart calendar app is in real-life situations.
As people tackling multiple calendars, project management apps, and communication platforms, we are indeed the intended target for Morgen. Last week, we kept aside our go-to calendar apps and tested Morgen on our Mac. Here’s a quick review of our experience.
User Interface
UI design is something that many people praise Morgen for. We can attest to this after a week of using the app. Here’s a quick overview of what we felt about the UI.
Morgen follows a three-pane interface for the main application. You will be familiar with the same thing even if you use the web-based tool.

The leftmost pane allows you to navigate between options, including tasks, open invites, the booking page, and workflows. The second pane provides an overview of tasks or events that are due, allowing you to sort them by priority. The third pane, which is also the largest, offers multiple views and a highly customizable interface, including weekly, monthly, agenda, and custom-based views.
Despite offering multiple viewing options, Morgen’s UI design is clean and focused. Even then, Morgen has found space for nifty utilities, such as a time-zone assistant and an AI planner. More about them later.
Calendar Management
Life can be difficult when you have to rely on multiple calendars and applications to manage your life and work. Morgen simplifies this process by offering a straightforward space where you can view all calendars, tasks, and other appointments from apps like Zoom or Google Meet.
For instance, we may have a task running on Todoist, but we can easily add it to our Google Calendar so that it becomes accessible through the Google Calendar app at a later stage. The first step in all this is to connect almost any calendar or application using Morgan.

If not done during the initial setup, you can add calendars, tasks, or video-conferencing accounts to Morgen using the Integrations subsections from Settings. Morgen offers quick onboarding for calendars from Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Platforms like Notion, Google Tasks, Outlook, Apple Reminders, and ClickUp are also on the list. Morgen also supports Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
Once you have added these accounts, Morgen lets you set up custom preferences as well. Overall, it feels a lot easier to manage multiple calendars and platforms using Morgen. We have tried other apps like BusyCal before, but Morgen is indeed a breeze of fresh air.
Task Management & Blocking
Connecting and viewing multiple calendars is indeed great. However, you need a few more features actually to boost productivity. We found the task management and blocking features of Morgen to be to-the-point and tailored for professionals.
Even without AI, Morgen finds it easier to create and manage tasks. Once you access the Tasks panel, you have the option to select from multiple platforms and add them to the calendar you have chosen. Given that you can easily choose between the various calendars, it is pretty easy to see what happens. You can also assign multiple colors to the calendar items as desired.

Morgen makes a clear distinction between suggestions and actions as well. That is, you don’t have to accept all suggestions, and they don’t block time on your calendar, either. In this way alone, Morgen is less dominant and more accommodating than other planner tools we have tested.
We must also praise how Morgen considers your time. For instance, you can teach this app to consider specific calendars to determine your availability.
Scheduling & Collaboration
Morgen also offers some nifty utilities for scheduling and collaboration. There’s a dedicated set of features for teams, but individuals can also benefit from some features.

For instance, Morgen gives you a Booking page that you can use for scheduling. Given that your calendar is up to date, this link should help you manage meetings and other appointments from outside. You need to mark your availability on the calendar and share the booking link with the intended person. Morgen also offers support for recurring events.
You will also benefit from options like Team Availability and Calendar Sync. This way, you stay in control of all your calendars.
Morgen Workflows
Morgen also favors automation and has been building some workflows. Currently, three pre-set workflows are available, but you can create one on your own.
- Calendar Propagation ensures that your calendars are in sync.
- Automated Travel Time calculates and adds travel time to the events.
- Buffer Time ensures you take sufficient breaks between back-to-back tasks.
The developers are working on additional workflows, including Team Meeting Optimizer, Dynamic Time Blocking, and AI Project Assistant.
AI Planner
AI Planner is probably the most innovative feature of the Morgen suite. We have tried AI planners from other apps, but the one from Morgen is better for several reasons.
Like other applications, the AI planner from Morgen is also designed to help you manage multiple tasks and schedule them appropriately. However, this tool provides ample room for prioritization, allowing you to control which tasks are prioritized first and which are deferred.

Additionally, since you can consider calendars from multiple applications or services, there is a method to consolidate everything as well. You can also create something called Frames, which are tasks in particular categories. These frames can also be designed and set up in recurring mode.
We also loved how it gives you options to prioritize, reschedule, or even unschedule options whenever there is a conflict. The AI engine performs more effectively in detecting conflicts and provides suggestions that you can accept or decline.
Even when it comes to the AI scheduling process itself, you have multiple options to choose from. The AI planner allows you to plan, take sufficient breaks, or even select the default duration for a task. It will even break down long tasks for you, ensuring everything is in order.
In short, Morgen’s AI Planner does not take away your control!
Impact on Productivity
We use tools like Morgen to improve productivity, right? Morgen does the job here, though.
After testing Morgen for over a week, we observed a significant increase in our productivity. Previously, we had to toggle between multiple calendars and web-based interfaces to manage various tasks and schedules. Now that Morgen can take care of all these together, we spend less time shifting between these spaces and more time focusing on what is ahead.
We also loved what the AI planner does without taking too much control from us. The scheduling and open invite options are also great time-savers. In short, we believe Morgen is a legitimate improvement for productivity at both the individual and team levels.

Morgen offers a 15% discount for those switching from Motion, Reclaim, Sunsama, or Fantastical. Additionally, students and non-profits can receive a 25% discount on the Pro plan.
Morgen does not offer a free version, but you can try the 14-day free trial instead.
The Final Verdict
After thorough testing for over a week, we believe Morgen is an excellent investment for individuals who value their time, especially those who manage multiple calendars, tasks, and schedules.
It essentially creates a single space from which you can manage almost everything related to your schedule ahead, including scheduling and open invitations. The AI planner is a great addition, making it an excellent option for planning.
It’s impressive that the AI planner gives you a lot of options for control instead of taking over your schedule, so we recommend that you check out Morgen once.
